VMworld 2013 – my schedule

Shares

Just a few days left to VMworld event in Barcelona and I can’t wait for it already Big Smile This year really shape up well. So many to see but only 3 days so I decided I divide those three days based on topic I’m interested in. Most of the time I will be hanging our exhibition area heaving breaks for some sessions.

First day will be storage – I have to catch up with hot topics in storage area, so many things so many new starters showed up on the market – very exited technologies – software based but not only. Flash, converge, NoSAN, software and hardware accelerators – and many many more to see.

Second day – cloud, automation and operation – strictly related to my current project – cloud and automation is the hottest topics in IT world. It is obvious that it a “must” topic in my agenda. Need to look around between software vendors to check what they offer to the market.

Third day – compute, backup and recovery – which way to go with compute – keep current set up or shell we go for POD’s (NetAPP flexpod, VBLOCK, IBM flex solution,) or maybe Nutanix and NoSAN approach. It is not about hardware itself but also what vendor offers along with the hardware – meaning software which makes a difference in our days. Very important topic is backup and recovery in cloud era. For a last few years software companies come up with very good solutions for virtual datacenters. This year new products and new releases gives even higher integration with virtualization software stock and more features which makes BC\DR concepts much easier to implement and operate.
